Washington, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Gwen Moore (WI-4) voted in favor of the STOCK Act, which would explicitly ban insider trading by members of Congress and their aides on non-public information. Additionally the bill would impose new disclosure requirements under which lawmakers must publicly report any stock or securities transaction within 45 days of when the transaction occurs. She released this statement.

"While I do have some concerns regarding the removal of certain Senate provisions from the House bill, I believe this legislation is a good step toward further clarification of current law.

“It is my hope that this legislation gives comfort to the American people that the information provided to Members of Congress is being used for the public good and not personal gain."
