Arts Legislation: Below is a brief list of arts-related legislation introduced in the 112th Congress

  •  H.R. 1190 - Artist-Museum Partnership Act of 2011.  Sponsored by Rep. John Lewis (GA-5) and Rep. Todd Platts (PA-19), Arts Caucus Co-Chair
  • H.R. 2055 - Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2012.  Division E of this omnibus appropriations bill contains funding in fiscal year 2012 for the National Endowment for the Arts, National Endowment for the Humanities, John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the National Gallery of Art, Smithsonian Institution, Institute of American Indian and Alaska Native Culture and Arts Development and the Commission on Fine Arts.  -- Text of Division E -- Joint Statement of Managers for Division E-- In addition, Division F contains funding for Arts in Education within the Department of Education. -- Text of Division F -- Joint Statement of Managers for Division F --
  • H.R. 2823 - National Jazz Preservation and Education Act of 2011. Sponsored by Rep. John Conyers (MI-14).

- The Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies (Arts in Education within the Department of Education)

- The Subcommittee on Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies (for National Endowment for the Arts, National Endowment for the Humanities, the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts, etc.)
