Release: Connolly Holds Open House

Surrounded by family and friends, Virginia Congressman Gerry Connolly was sworn into a second term of office Wednesday by new House Speaker John Boehner at a ceremony in the U.S. Capitol. Connolly said he was honored to have the opportunity to serve the citizens of Northern Virginia in the U.S. House of Representatives. Connolly also said he intends to work within the Congress to secure bipartisan approval of the Korea Free Trade Agreement.

Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-Va.), who represents the 11th District, hosted constituents at an open house at his Capitol Hill office on Wednesday to mark the start of the 112th Congress.

Well-wishers, constituents, and staffers enjoyed refreshments in Rep. Connolly's office in his new digs at 424 Cannon, which is one floor above the office he occupied during his first term. 

Members of the House were sworn in today by the new House Speaker, Rep. John Boehner (R-Ohio). Many representatives hosted constituents at their offices to celebrate.
