On Tuesday, September 11, 2012, the House is scheduled to consider H.R. 6080, a bill to make improvements in the enactment of title 41, United States Code, into a positive law title and to improve the Code, under a suspension of the rules requiring a two-thirds majority vote for approval.  The bill was introduced on July 9, 2012, by Rep. Lamar Smith (R-TX) and referred to the Committee on the Judiciary, which held a markup and reported the bill by voice vote.

H.R. 6080 would make no substantive changes to federal law.  Rather, the bill would improve the efficiency of the manner in which federal law is codified by making numerous technical and clerical changes to titles of U.S. Code that address public contracts.

The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates that enacting H.R. 6080 would have no significant impact on the federal budget.
