On Wednesday, December 5, 2012, the House is scheduled to consider S. 2367, the 21st Century Language Act of 2012, under a suspension of the rules requiring a two-thirds majority vote for passage. The bill was introduced by Sen. Kent Conrad (D-ND) on April 25, 2012, and referred to the Committee on Judiciary.

The bill would remove references to the word lunatic from rules of construction of the U.S. Code and banking law provisions concerning trust powers of banks, and bank consolidations and mergers.  The Senate approved S. 2367 by unanimous consent on May 23, 2012.
