Forest health act gains traction, sparks caution
An act that supporters say will increase local and state governments’ ability to manage forest health is headed for a sub-committee hearing today — and it’s already seeing support outside of the Beltway. House Resolution 6089, introduced by U.S. Rep. Scott Tipton and co-sponsored by several other Republicans, seeks to declare the bark beetle infestation and wildfire risk as imminent threats.
