Coalition Forces Continue Presence Patrols in Farah Province
A coalition force member leads fellow troops off base for a presence patrol in Farah province, Afghanistan, Dec. 9, 2012. Coalition forces were conducting a patrol to assess the Afghan local police in the village. Afghan local police complement counterinsurgency efforts by assisting and supporting rural areas with limited Afghan national security forces presence.

U.S. Army Capt. Shawn Basinger conducts training with local Afghans in Farah City in Afghanistan's Farah province, Dec. 1, 2012. Basinger, a veterinarian, is assigned to the 438th Medical Detachment Veterinary Services. The training was a joint effort between Provincial Reconstruction Team Farah and the 438th Medical Detachment Veterinary Services to promote public health in Farah province.

Navy Wins in 113th Army-Navy Football Game
The crowd fills the stadium at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia before the start of the 113th Army-Navy game, Dec. 8., 2012. The winner of the game will take home the Commander in Chief's Trophy, which is presented annually to the winner of the football competition among the service academies.
