During his seventh tour to visit deployed troops, Toby Keith and Scotty Emerick put on two shows each day at the smaller, more remote bases FOBs & COPs. Then each night the full band would do a larger show at the closer of the large bases such as here at FOB Sharana, where the audience eagerly awaits the show to begin. U.S. Troops Conduct Rescue Exercise in Djibouti

A U.S. Marine CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter approaches an Air Force C-130P aircraft during a helicopter air refueling mission over Grand Bara, Djibouti, April 23, 2009. The helicopter crew is assigned to the Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron Four Six One, and the aircraft crew is assigned to the 81st Rescue Squadron. The helicopter received 13,800 pounds of fuel during the 45-minute mission. The exercise consisted of transporting pararescuemen to a water jump, aerial refueling of a CH-53E helicopter, an assault landing on an unimproved runway, and transloading a simulated survivor from the CH-53E. Marines Conduct Air Assault Exercise in Yuma, Arizona

U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Jared Leiss counts the Marines in his squad as they board an MV-22 Osprey during an air assault exercise east of Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Ariz., April 13, 2009. Leiss is a squad leader assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment. The Marines were airlifted to the Blue Mountain Airfield for a live-fire exercise and to secure the airfield. The Camp Lejeune, N.C., battalion is scheduled to conclude their training in Yuma with a battalion-sized helicopter-borne assault exercise in late April, the largest exercise of its type conducted in approximately 10 years.
