National POW/MIA Recognition Day
Helicopters fly in formation at the Armed Forces Full Honor Review in honor of National POW/MIA Recognition Day at the Pentagon, Sept. 15, 2006. Deputy Secretary of Defense Gordon England and Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Marine Gen. Peter Pace, U.S. Marine Corps, co-hosted the event and Congressman Robert Simmons (R-CT) was the guest speaker at the Pentagon ceremony.

Scott AFB 9/11 Run
Members of the United States Transportation Command lead more than 1,700 military and civilian runners during a Scott Air Force Base, Ill. 2.1 mile group run Sept. 11, 2006. The early morning event was a prelude to a 9/11 remembrance held on the base parade field during which Gen. Norton Schwartz, commander, United States Transportation Command addressed the formation.

President Meets with 9/11 Families
President George W. Bush speaks with Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff U.S. Marine Corps Gen. Peter Pace prior to the start of a wreath laying ceremony at the Pentagon, Sept. 11, 2006. On the fifth anniversary of the terrorist attack against the United States, Bush laid a wreath at the crash site of Flight 77 and met with family members of those who lost their lives at the Pentagon on 9/11.
