Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement upon Senate passage of an emergency supplemental package to provide aid for Hurricane Sandy recovery efforts.  The measure passed the Senate on a bipartisan vote of 62 to 32.

"Our fellow Americans are waiting for relief to rebuild their homes, businesses, communities and lives after the ravages of Hurricane Sandy.  Now that the Senate has acted on the Sandy disaster relief bill, the House must do the same immediately.

"On Sunday, the House is in session and the Republican leadership must take that opportunity to allow a vote on this critical relief bill because we are running out of time."
