Yes, Mr. President – there is a spending problem: http://j.mp/ZCuw4x #SpendingIsTheProblem
@SpeakerBoehner hmm. But what department is doing the spending.
@WilliamDeen I agree unfunded wars r bad but why do folks on welfare make more than I do who works 360 days a yr? Do 85yrolds need $1m oper?
@WilliamDeen A tax cut isn't a form of spending, it's a form of cutting revenue...
@JOHNCOSSEL And I agree with you on both issues. We need as much work done on the lower end of the wage scale as the top.
@consvote Common sense suggest if you cut revenue, you have less money to pay your bills. Therefore, you have to reduce bills (spending).
@WilliamDeen Common sense is wrong. Tax cuts don't always mean reduced revenue. And it certainly doesn't mean increased spending.
@WilliamDeen in the case of the Bush Tax Cuts, revenues droppes but spending didn't. This left a deficit. Up revenue or down spending.
@WilliamDeen @GOP says revenue fight is over. 13 new taxes for US this year. Tax reform and spending needed to bring debt under control.
@WilliamDeen-If you take in $$ and don't pay your bills, what do you call that...you idiot.
@eiinssvc What do you call taking in money, borrow money to help pay bills, and then decide you need less money. Unfortunately for (cont)
@eiinssvc society, having an opinion and discussing problems is difficult when the first words from one side are an insult.
@consvote True. But in this case, the Bush tax cuts did not motivate the "job creators." It was simply income removed from treasury. (cont)
@consvote In addition. Those making the decisions knew the wars would cost hundreds of billions. Yet, they failed 2 fund them.
@consvote My point exactly! When the revenues dropped and unemployment rose, they knew less $ would be coming in. Therefore, cut spending.
@WilliamDeen-It's even worse when people think that nobody has to pay the bills, and that gov't has shown to be good auditers.
@eiinssvc Nobody believes the bills do not have to be paid.
