In the 113^th Congress, Senator Murkowski will continue to honor the earmark moratorium enacted on February 1, 2011, and does not plan on formally submitting any requests to the Senate Appropriations Committee. However, the Senator believes it is still important to know about Alaska's needs, and the best way to learn that information is to hear directly from Alaskans. Thus, the Senator’s policy is to continue to solicit this information from communities across the state through a request form for the Fiscal Year 2015 (FY15) appropriations cycle. This information will be valuable as the Appropriations Committee turns to setting funding levels for a host of programs that are critical to Alaska and also as the various Departments and Agencies begin to make grant and allocation decisions.
