Art Competition

2013 Art Winner - Hannah WilsonCongratulations to Aamina Yousaf, whose charcoal drawing “Eagles” was declared winner of the 2014 Congressional Art Contest!

Each spring, I am delighted to invite high school students from my district to participate in this annual competition sponsored by the United States House of Representatives. If you’re a high school student looking for an opportunity to show off your creativity, this is your chance to represent our district and receive national recognition.

Started in 1982, An Artistic Discovery allows lawmakers to encourage and recognize the artistic talent of their young constituents. Since then, more than 650,000 students have participated in the nationwide competition.

Open to all high school students living in the Fourth District of Oklahoma, the winning prize includes display of the artwork for one year in the United States Capitol and travel for the winner and a guest to Washington, D.C. for a reception, workshop and award presentation (courtesy of Southwest Airlines).

If you would like to enter this year’s Congressional Art Competition, please download and carefully review the forms below. All entries must be original in concept, design and execution.
