Congressman Bill Cassidy

Representing the 6th District of LOUISIANA

National Security

Our government has no greater duty than defending the people of the United States.  Dr. Cassidy believes America’s military must have the resources, training, and equipment necessary to defend our citizens at home and our nation’s interests abroad.

The horrific attacks of 9/11 demonstrate that the United States must maintain an offensive military posture against rogue nations and terrorists groups.  Dr. Cassidy supports America’s global efforts to track down and eliminate terrorists before they can strike American cities.

The men and women of the Armed Forces have carried out their recent missions in Iraq and Afghanistan with unrivaled skill and determination, laying the groundwork for a more peaceful future and a safer United States.  Dr. Cassidy will always vote to provide these brave women and men with the training, equipment, and funding they need to carry out their mission.  He also recognizes the sacrifice made by the military families who support our service men and women, and is committed to providing our soldiers and their families with the care and support they deserve.
