Congressman Kerry Bentivolio is privileged to announce the nomination of twenty-nine applicants to the prestigious UnitedStates military service academies. Hailing from municipalities all across Michigan’s Eleventh District, which contains portions of Oakland and Wayne counties, these ambitious young people will be competing to become the future leadership of our nation’s armed forces.
As a former soldier who served in both the Vietnam and Iraq War, I can tell you that our veterans often find it difficult to transition from military to civilian life. Workplace skill training can be a lifesaver for many of our veterans making the move from our armed services to the private sector.
Too many of our soldiers are finding it difficult to find jobs when they return from overseas. It’s time to help them out.
Today, Rep. Kerry Bentivolio introduced the Veteran’s Entry to Apprenticeship Act, H.R. 3384. This act amends current law, specifically Title 38, to allow veterans to use their educational benefits for enrollment in pre-apprenticeship programs.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Kerry Bentivolio voted for the Honoring the Families of a Fallen Soldier Act, H.J.Res 91. This legislation makes continuing appropriations for death gratuities and related survivor benefits of deceased military service members of the Department of Defense. It passed the House of Representatives in a bipartisan fashion with a vote of 425-0. |
