WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Robert Hurt (R-Virginia) released the following statement after Blue Ridge Railcar Repair, a subsidiary of Patriot Rail Company, announced its plan to expand its operation, creating 37 new jobs in Charlotte County.

“At a time when Southside is suffering with far too many out of work, I am pleased that Blue Ridge Railcar Repair is adding new jobs in our area. Their decision to expand investment in Charlotte County is a testament to the hardworking people of Southside. I thank President and CEO John Fenton for the company’s continued commitment to job creation in Charlotte County as it expands, and I commend the Governor, Virginia Economic Development Partnership, Charlotte County Board of Supervisors, and the Virginia Tobacco Indemnification and Community Revitalization Commission for their work to attract this opportunity to Southside.
