Small Business
Small business is the backbone of America’s economy, having created over 60 percent of all new jobs in the last decade. To help small businesses grow and prosper, Dr. Cassidy supports providing small business tax relief and reducing burdensome regulations.
One of the most important areas where Congress can help small business is by permanently repealing the burdensome and duplicative “death tax,” which unfairly punishes small family businesses by imposing significant tax liabilities on the death of a family business owner.
Dr. Cassidy believes updating and streamlining regulations is important to helping small businesses. Poorly-designed government regulation imposes a huge burden on consumers and small businesses. An analysis by the Small Business Administration estimates that government regulations create nearly $1 trillion a year in hidden costs and that small businesses are disproportionately penalized by them. Dr. Cassidy will work to create an efficient, cost-effective federal regulatory environment that protects consumers and helps businesses grow.
