Tonko Urges Speaker to Cancel Recess, Cites Large To-Do List for House
09/19/14WASHINGTON – Congressman Paul Tonko (D-NY) joined 42 of his colleagues this week in asking Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) to cancel recess, citing an extensive list of tasks left untouched by the House Majority. The U.S. House of Representatives stood in recess for 38 days from August 1 to September 8 and, after only eight days of work, has recessed again until November 12. Tonko Announces More Than $500,000 for Local Fire Departments
08/22/14CAPITAL REGION – Congressman Paul Tonko (D-NY) announced today that local fire departments would receive more than $500,000 in Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) from the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in cooperation with the U.S. Fire Administration (USFA). Rexford Fire District and Duanesburg Fire District #2 are set to receive $150,070 and $387,954 respectively to enhance operations and safety at the facility.
