The donation will expand the Battlefield by 33 acres and the Refuge by 35 acres, linking the two sites together and connecting them with other areas in the community.

The Great Lakes Fish and Wildlife Restoration Act of 2016 authorizes the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) to work with states and other agencies to develop and execute proposals to conserve, restore and manage fish and wildlife populations, and their habitats.
