Leaked DHS Documents Show Obama’s Illegal Plan for Amnesty

Vitter, Grassley, and 7 Senators urge DHS to follow immigration laws, not provide amnesty for illegal aliens

(Washington, D.C.) – U.S. Sen. David Vitter (R-La.), a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, sent a letter to Jeh Johnson, Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), along with Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and 7 additional Senators. In light of recently allegedly leaked DHS documents, which show the Obama Administration’s plans to circumvent the law in order to allow amnesty for illegal aliens, the Senators urge DHS to refrain from moving forward with any proposal that would undermine the legal immigration system and violate a standing court order.

“Frankly, I’m not surprised to see the Obama Administration stoop to these levels to push through their amnesty agenda,” said Vitter. “Louisianians and Americans have made it very clear that amnesty is a non-starter, and I will continue to fight for accountability within Obama’s DHS to prevent any illegal use of executive authority.”

Vitter has been leading the fight in the U.S. Senate against the Obama Administration’s attempts to offer amnesty to illegal aliens. Earlier this year, Vitter introduced legislation that would establish a deficit-neutral reserve fund in order to combat the growing ‘anchor baby’ problem, prohibiting the Obama Administration’s executive actions related to amnesty. Vitter’s legislation would ensure that only children of U.S. citizens or nationals and children of permanent residents would receive U.S. citizenship and all related financial, legal, and social benefits.
