Congressman Evan Jenkins

Representing the 3rd District of West Virginia

Family Values

Congressman Evan Jenkins is a proud supporter of the right to life and has help pass several pieces of legislation in Congress to protect the sanctity of life. This includes the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, which would ban abortions in most cases after 20 weeks of pregnancy on the basis that unborn children can feel pain.

He has also voted for legislation that would prevent taxpayer funds from going to organizations that perform abortions and is currently a cosponsor of the Defund Planned Parenthood Act, which prohibits Planned Parenthood from receiving taxpayer money. In addition, he has joined many of his House colleagues in sending a letter to U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch demanding that the U.S. Justice Department immediately and fully investigate Planned Parenthood’s practices.

Evan also believes that the federal government should not infringe on the rights of Americans to exercise their constitutionally protected religious liberties. That is why Congressman Jenkins is a proud supporter of legislation that would bar the federal government from imposing penalties on individuals and religious organizations for practicing their First Amendment rights.
