Frederick County and city officials gathered with others Tuesday to recognize Black History Month and highlight the importance of the African-American community in the county, said County Executive Jan Gardner.

CUMBERLAND — U.S. Rep. John Delaney was treated to a tour of the Footer Dye Works building on Wednesday during a visit to Western Maryland.
"It's exciting to see a redevelopment project here in Cumberland," said Delaney while meeting members of the press prior to the tour.
MCHENRY — U.S. Rep. John Delaney will tour the new WVU Cancer Institute at Garrett Regional Medical Center later this month.
Delaney was helpful in the development of the institute by supporting efforts with governmental agencies that ultimately approved funding for the center, hospital officials said.

Delaney praises veterans bill
The National Park Service is rescinding a proposal to start charging entrance fees along the entire, 185-mile length of the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal National Historical Park.

A bill to help repair the nation's crumbling infrastructure was introduced on Tuesday in the US House of Representatives. The Partnership to Build America Act is sponsored by 6th District Congressman John Delaney, and Pennsylvania Representative Mike Fitzpatrick.
