Germany to Lead OSCE in 2016

Germany will serve as OSCE Chair-in-Office in 2016.

Germany has indicated it will continue the work on youth exchanges initiated by the previous Serbian and Swiss chairmanships. In the human dimension, Germany will focus on:

  • Freedom of the press and freedom of information, independence of the media, and the safety of journalists.
  • Protection of minorities.
  • Combating political extremism, intolerance and discrimination, including anti-Semitism and integration issues related to migrants.
  • Strengthening the rights of women.
