Thank you for your interest in interning with the House Committee on Natural Resources. An internship at the Committee offers a unique working environment, which is both educational and professional. On this page, you will find application instructions and a description of typical intern duties.

Qualifications:
Applicants must be undergraduate, graduate students, or recent college graduates who can work independently and possess excellent writing, research, and interpersonal skills.

Typical Responsibilities:
Interns assist the Chairman and Committee staff in all areas of the office operation, including: researching legislative initiatives, preparing briefing memos, conducting background studies, assembling information, assisting lead staff in the Committee hearing rooms, attending hearings, markups, and briefings, and assisting with a variety of legislative and press projects including hearing preparation and website enhancements. Interns also perform administrative duties, such as answering phones, and sorting and distributing mail.

Other Details:
Internships generally mirror college semesters, running from January-May for spring internships, June-August for summer internships, and September-December for fall internships. Our office hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
