HOUGHTON, Amory, Jr., (grandson of Alanson Bigelow Houghton), a Representative from New York; born in Corning, Steuben County, N.Y., August 7, 1926; graduated from St. Paul's School, Concord, N.H.; B.A., Harvard University, Cambridge, Mass., 1950; M.B.A., Harvard Business School, Cambridge, Mass., 1952; United States Marine Corps, 1945-1946; business executive; elected as a Republican to the One Hundredth and to the eight succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1987-January 3, 2005); not a candidate for reelection to the One Hundred Ninth Congress in 2004.
