Rep. Pete Olson (R-TX) today acted to protect the unborn and pro-life advocates by voting against a short-term spending bill. The House passed Senate amendments to H.R. 719 to provide appropriations for current government functions through December 11, 2015.  The bill passed by a vote of 277 - 151. Olson voted no.

Rep. Pete Olson (R-TX) today acted to give states the power to determine how Medicaid dollars are allocated. Currently, federal Medicaid funds cannot be used to pay for abortions, but states cannot withhold Medicaid funds from abortion providers if they choose to. The House passed H.R. 3495, the Women’s Public Health and Safety Act, by a vote of 236 to 193.
