The United States Capitol
General admission tickets for the United States Capitol are available Monday through Saturday on a first come first serve basis, so arrive early. Tickets are distributed beginning at 8:00 am, and tours are conducted from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm.
Congressional staff led tours are also available Monday-Friday. Please contact my Washington, D.C. office at (202) 225-6155 for information on tour times and to reserve your spot.
The White House
Due to increased security procedures enacted since September 11, it is very difficult to get tickets to tour the White House and slots are extremely limited. Tour requests should be made up to three months in advance and requests are considered on a first come first serve basis. However, the White House does not inform groups about the status of their tour requests until about two weeks before the requested tour date.
Please note, all tours are subject to cancellation due to occasional security concerns or official White House scheduling conflicts.

Veterans History Project
Thank a veteran! Partner with the Library of Congress Veterans History Project (VHP) to document oral histories, mementos, letters, maps, pictures and more so that every veteran will be forever memorialized in history.
The VHP was created in 2000 to preserve and make firsthand remembrances of America’s war veterans accessible. Since then, the VHP has archived thousands of stories from American veterans, including accounts of every war from World War I to recent Afghanistan and Iraq conflicts. The growth of this collection is supported by volunteers like Scout troops, students, family members, and neighbors who interview the veterans in their lives and submit their oral histories to VHP. The project serves to provide future generations with a better understanding of the realities of war. Click here for more information.
