On Friday, Congressman Huizenga participated in a Bring Back our Small Businesses event at New Holland Brewery's the Knickerbocker in Grand Rapids. The Job Creators Network hosted the event and invited Congressman Huizenga to speak along side local small business owners Ted Vaughn, who owns Tolman’s Wholesale Meats in Hudsonville, and Johnny Brann Jr., owner of Kitchen 67 and Brann’s Restaurants in Grand Rapids.
Rep. Huizenga led a discussion on how regulatory red tape can have a number of negative consequences for small business job creators here in West Michigan. Rep. Huizenga noted that regulations can impact small businesses very differently. For example, overregulation of local community banks and credit unions can cause restricted access to credit for area small businesses. If a small business' access to credit is limited, then the entrepreneur cannot invest to expand their operation and hire new employees. Congressman Huizenga also discussed how overtaxation impacts the cost of doing business. If Uncle Sam gets too greedy, he can sap the lifeblood out of even the most successful small business which in turn can have a number of negative consequences including the elimination of jobs, goods, and services.
WZZM attended the small business event, and you can watch their coverage of Congressman Huizenga discussing the importance of small business manufacturing by clicking "play" on the video below.

The local stations explained how ObamaCare and the Obama Administration's overtime rule are causing them to eliminate jobs or force hardworking employees who deserve full time employment to take part time jobs.
