Over the past several weeks, I’ve been visiting senior centers across our district. One of the most important issues that I hear about all the time is protecting Medicare, which is why I’m committed to strengthening Medicare for generations to come.

In recent years, reckless action and irresponsible inaction in Washington have threatened Medicare’s solvency while also cutting benefits to current programs. Whether its the new healthcare law cutting Medicare Advantage by $150 billion or a proposal threatening to cut coverage for more than 160,000 Illinois seniors, Medicare always seems to be under attack.

I opposed both of these dangerous cuts to Medicare because our seniors absolutely deserve better. But now there’s a new threat: unelected bureaucrats in Washington, D.C. are scheming to put together a new experiment that could hurt care for millions of people who rely on Medicare.

That’s why I introduced a new bill to protect seniors’ access to care by preventing this experiment from happening.
