EAGEN, James M., III, a Chief Administrative Officer from Pennsylvania; born in Clarks Summit, Lackawanna County, Pa., 1957; B.A., Gettysburg College, Gettysburg, Pa., 1979; M.A., American University, Washington, D.C., 1982; staff, United States Representative Steve Gunderson of Wisconsin, 1982–1985; staff, United States Representative William F. Goodling of Pennsylvania, 1985–1991; staff, House Committee on Education and Labor, 1991–1994; staff, House Committee on Education and the Workforce, 1995–1997; elected Chief Administrative Officer of the United States House of Representatives for the One Hundred Fifth and for the five succeeding Congresses, and served until his resignation on February 14, 2007 (July 31, 1997–February 14, 2007).
