TRANDAHL, Jeff, a Chief Administrative Officer and Clerk from South Dakota; born in Spearfish, Lawrence County, South Dakota, 1964; B.A., University of Maryland, College Park, Md., 1987; staff, United States Senator James Abdnor of South Dakota, 1982–1987; staff, United States Representative Virginia Smith of Nebraska, 1987–1990; staff, House Committee on Appropriations, 1987–1990; staff, United States Representative Pat Roberts of Kansas, 1990–1995; deputy clerk, Office of the Clerk, United States House of Representatives, 1995–1996; appointed Chief Administrative Officer of the United States House of Representatives for the One Hundred Fourth Congress; elected Chief Administrative Officer for the One Hundred Fifth Congress and served until his resignation on July 31, 1997 (November 22, 1996–July 31, 1997); deputy clerk of the United States House of Representatives, 1997–1999; appointed Clerk of the United States House of Representatives for the One Hundred Fifth Congress; elected Clerk for the One Hundred Sixth and for the three succeeding Congresses, and served until his resignation on November 18, 2005 (January 1, 1999–November 18, 2005); director, National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, 2005–present.
