The current forecast track of Hurricane Matthew continues to bring dangerous impacts to North Carolina. Heavy rain (6-12", with up to 15" in localized areas) wi...ll likely lead to life-threatening flooding across eastern NC. Tropical storm force winds are expected across southeastern NC Saturday AM - Sunday. The NHC will continue to refine the forecast track throughout the day. Please continue to monitor the forecast as any slight shift to the west or north will bring severe impacts farther inland and to the north. #ReadyNC #ncwx #MatthewNC

Although the forecast track of Hurricane Matthew has not changed much over the past day, there remains low confidence in the expected track beyond Friday night.... It is still expected that southeastern North Carolina will see significant impacts from this system, and the forecasted rainfall and storm surge amounts have been increased.
See MoreToday I was honored to present Raleigh native Graham Tannery with his WWII military awards. This deserving member of our Nation’s greatest generation was honorably discharged from the Army Air Corps in 1946 but was never issued his medals. It was my pleasure to meet Mr. Tannery and thank him for his service.
Hurricane Matthew is a dangerous storm. Prepare NOW to protect yourself, family and pets. #MatthewNC #ReadyNC
I am profoundly saddened to hear that Larry Stogner has passed away. I grew up watching Larry on Channel 11, and later had the honor of getting to know him. He was a true journalist, fair, thorough, and devoted to his craft. I join with his many admirers in sending thoughts and prayers to his family.
