Jul 18, 2013
Press Release
On Monday, July 29th from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Representative Sean Patrick Maloney is hosting a free “Agricultural Economy Workshop” for local business owners. The workshop will highlight opportunities to access new land and capital, new markets and distribution opportunities, traditional and creative resourcing and financing options, and provide an education and funding resource toolbox for beginning farmers. The workshop will take place at the SUNY Orange – Newburgh Campus in the Great Room, Rm. 101 located at 75 Grand St. in Newburgh, NY 12550.

“Our hardworking farmers and local business owners create thousands of jobs, strengthen our communities, and bring back millions to the Hudson Valley every year,” said Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney. “I built my own business from scratch, so I know how difficult owning your own business can be - and this workshop is an opportunity to partner with folks from every part of the supply chain. From producer to distributor and everywhere in between this is a chance to learn about ways to grow your business and strengthen our agricultural economy.”

There will be presentations from: Cornell Cooperative Extension, National Young Farmers Coalition, Farm Credit East, Orange County Land Trust, Glynwood, Scenic Hudson, GrowNYC, Small Business Development Center, Hudson Valley Economic Development Corporation, The Valley Table, Hudson Valley Agribusiness Development Corporation, USDA Farm Service Agency, NRCS & Rural Development and Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union, National Organic Coalition.
