Illinois’ 10th Congressional District includes the majority of Lake County and the northern part of Cook County. The district sits along Lake Michigan and is home to thriving suburbs, many of our nation's largest companies and an infrastructure hub that services the entire nation.

In 1926, A.L. Brumund, H.C. Burnett, and D.T. Webb purchased land, at the corner of Genesee and Clayton Streets, from the Y.M.C.A. Their wish was to create a community center for Waukegan focused on high quality entertainment, commercial and living spaces.

Adlai Stevenson II was an important and influential figure in the political history of the United States. Stevenson was Governor of Illinois from 1949 to 1953 and ran twice for President as the Democratic National Candidate in 1952 and 1956 and served as Ambassador to the United Nations from 1961 - 1965. The grounds are open daily for self-guided tours.

Illinois Beach is a unique and captivating natural resource for all to enjoy. It was created by the titanic forces of glacial advance and retreat and the steady winds that breathed across expansive Lake Michigan. The park has dunes and swales with sprawling marshes, forests of oak and vast arrays of animal life and vegetation.

Unique to Illinois, Forest Preserve Districts are designed to protect large natural areas and provide passive recreation. Today we protect more than 30,100 acres and are the second largest Forest Preserve District in Illinois.

Designated a National Historic Landmark in 1976, the Grove is over 140 acres of conserved prairie grove as well as the restored 1856 home of Dr. John Kennicott. The site contains both outdoor walking trails and indoor museums.

Designated a National Historic Landmark, the Fort Sheridan Historic District was constructed between 1889 and 1908, Fort Sheridan's importance lies in its unusual associations with notable architectural firms and the integrity and number of surviving buildings.
