Among my work on your behalf this week I had the opportunity to focus on how we can increase opportunity by improving our schools and making college more affordable.

As the father of three children and the son of a school teacher, working to ensure quality education for children in all of our communities is a top priority of mine.

I work closely with my 10th District education advisory board to learn more about the challenges and needs facing our students and give a strong voice to those causes in Washington.

There’s no doubt that teachers, principals, school boards and parents are more qualified than Washington bureaucrats to decide how our children are educated. That’s why I rely heavily on their input and advice.
