The House of Representatives and the Senate passed H.R. 5883, the Technical and Clarifying Amendments to the Packers and Stockyards (P&S) Act of 2016 and was signed into law by President Obama on October 7th. Rep. DesJarlais was one of the original co-sponsors of the Packers and Stockyards Modernization Act.

This bill makes it clear that farmers and ranchers selling through online and video auctions are provided similar protections to those selling at fixed facility markets.
