Rep. Donald Norcross Statement on his Participation in Unprecedented Sit-in in the U.S. House of Representatives

News Release

Washington, DC-U.S. Rep. Donald Norcross (NJ-01) today released the following statement on his participation in unprecedented sit-in in the U.S. House of Representatives in protest of House leadership’s failure to bring gun safety legislation to a vote:

“Today, my colleagues and I took a strong and united stand in the U.S. House of Representatives for the safety and security of the people of the United States. 10 days after the Orlando massacre, the House leadership continues to deny us the opportunity to vote on the very legislation that the majority of America wants—a vote on common sense gun safety measures—including enhanced gun purchase background checks and closing a loophole in U.S. law that allows those on the nation’s ‘no fly list’ to legally purchase guns in this country. House Speaker Paul Ryan and the GOP leadership owe it to the country to allow this vote. The American people deserve to be heard and they deserve a vote. I’ll repeat what has been said time and again throughout this day: No Bill, No Break.”
