Committees
Sen. Bill Nelson serves on four committees, and is the ranking member of one, and of one subcommittee.
Committee on Commerce, Science & Transportation
Ranking member. Has jurisdiction over a broad range of issues from transportation to the Internet to the nation’s space program.
Committee on Armed Services
Senior member. Deals with our nation’s defense and military, and monitors threats to our national defense through the Emerging Threats and Capabilities subcommittee of which Nelson is ranking member.
Committee on Finance
Senior member. Among its chief duties is oversight of the federal tax code.
Special Committee on Aging
Senior member. Oversees various issues concerning seniors including retirement security, nursing home quality, consumer scams against seniors and prescription drug prices.
