Many people swear we learn everything we need to know in kindergarten. There is much truth to that. When we were children, our parents taught us helpful life lessons. Many lessons were learned as a consequence of bad decisions and were accompanied with a punishment, but their truth is undeniable.
Homeland Security
The United States confronts a wide array of threats at our U.S. borders and ports, ranging from terrorists who may have weapons of mass destruction, transnational criminals smuggling drugs or counterfeit goods, and unauthorized migrants intending to live and work in the United States. Border enforcement is a core element of the Department of Homeland Security's effort to control illegal migration, with the U.S. Border Patrol as the lead agency along most of our borders. We must control our borders and prevent those, who may harm us, from entering our country illegally. I am committed to working with my colleagues on the House Homeland Security Committee and others in Congress to ensure that our citizens remain safe and our homeland continues to be secure.
