Immigration Reform
I am committed to reforming our nation’s inefficient and broken immigration system. I believe reform must include a path to citizenship which will increase the nation’s tax base, give millions the opportunity to live and work in the United States, and make the immigration process easier for those who want to immigrate to the United States in the future.
Immigration reform is long-overdue. Every day, families in my district and across the country suffer under our broken immigration system.
A bipartisan coalition in the Senate has done its part to move us one step closer to commonsense reform. Now, it’s the House’s turn to act. We have not only an economic imperative to fix the system, but a moral one. The House must uphold our nation’s greatest traditions of equality, justice, and opportunity for all, and make comprehensive immigration reform the law of the land.
