Immigration

Immigrant citizens have long contributed to and enriched our nation, and we should continue to incentivize lawful immigration.  Illegal immigration, by contrast, undermines the rule of law and creates opportunity for unmonitored criminal activities. Unfortunately, many await permission to legally enter our nation while others are able to quickly circumvent this process. I have made fixing this problem one of my priorities. I believe it is important to ensure that any changes to our nation's immigration and citizenship policies come through Congress, not by way of executive action.
