Washington D.C. – House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (CA-23) made the following statement on passage of H.R. 357, the G.I. Bill Tuition Fairness Act:

“The men and women who volunteer to serve in our military do so with unwavering selflessness, oftentimes moving across the country from station to station in the course of their service. Sometimes, the last destination becomes home to a service member and his or her family, and many go on locally to pursue a degree in higher education after being honorably discharged. That is why I am pleased that the House passed H.R. 357, the G.I. Bill Tuition Fairness Act, today, which allows our heroes to be eligible for in-state tuition in any state, so that the realities of military life will no longer hinder the ability of service members from pursuing the second stage of their careers.”
