WASHINGTON

Senator Mike Johanns issued the following statement after sending a letter to Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius calling for more information on the implementation of the new health care law's high risk pools. On Monday, the Congressional Budget Office released a report indicating that the high risk pools are underfunded by $5-10 billion and will cover as many as 500,000 fewer individuals with pre-existing conditions than expected.
