The president recently put forward a budget that not only fails to address the serious financial challenges facing our nation but also continues to add to our nation's debt. Senate Republicans are urging Congress and the president to realize that we have to stop spending money we don't have if we want to put our nation on a path to fiscal health and create an environment in which businesses can grow and create jobs.
Senate Republicans reacted quickly to President Obama's FY12 budget request and urged for more presidential leadership in addressing the nation's massive debt and deficit problem.
Senate Republicans renew their call to rein in out of control spending, reduce the debt and in turn, make it easier and cheaper to create private sector jobs.
Instead of focusing on the American people's priorities -- namely, jobs and reducing government spending -- Democrats are continuing to endanger job creation by defending their budget-busting health care legislation and planning even more unnecessary spending. Senate Republicans are committed to reducing the cost of health care, cutting spending, and creating an environment where businesses can grow and create jobs.
Since the day Obamacare was signed into law, Senate Republicans have pledged to work to repeal and replace it with common-sense reforms. Today, they took the first step to do just that.
It's Time to Take Action on Deficit Reduction

The American people are tired of Washington's big-spending ways and are calling for action to reduce the deficit. Senate Republicans are committed to taking action to cut spending and remove government obstacles to private-sector job creation.
Republicans hear what the president says, but note that actions speak louder than words and will continue to seek bipartisan solutions to address the nation's priorities: Jobs, spending and the debt.
While congressional Democrats squabbled, Republicans forged a bipartisan agreement to protect families and small businesses from costly tax hikes.
