Ron Johnson of Wisconsin warns that increasingly serious attacks against America’s cyber networks are a growing peril that threatens our nation’s economic and national security. As chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, Johnson says a top priority this year will be to pass legislation designed to help mitigate the kinds of cyberattacks that have occurred recently against a number of U.S. businesses, including Anthem Healthcare, Target and Sony Pictures, as well as the Department of Defense. “Reducing this threat would benefit every American,” says Johnson. “Ignoring it will guarantee that future attacks will produce headlines describing lasting harm to America. We need to get this done.”
