It has recently become public that in January of 2016 the Obama Administration secretly transferred $400 million to Iran on “Implementation Day” of the nuclear agreement. We have now learned that the transfer of $400 million was contingent on the release of four American hostages in Tehran.
As Commander-In-Chief, President Obama is entrusted to lead our nation with nothing less than his complete attention and full dedication.

Since its inception, I have been resolute in my staunch opposition to the Affordable Care Act (ACA), commonly referred to as ObamaCare. As a physician, I knew it would hinder access to medical care, as well as reduce the overall quality of care.
The non-partisan Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) estimates the illegal immigration population of Tennessee at 120,000. Clearly something must be done. But the Senate immigration reform bill, drafted behind closed doors by the “Gang of Eight,” and championed by President Obama only compounds the problem.
From the beginning I made it clear I would not support any government spending bill that provided funding for ObamaCare. I stuck to that promise throughout the entire government shutdown because I believed it was the right thing to do for both our country and our community.
Lately, some of my conservative colleagues and I have been attacked by both the mainstream media and the Washington, DC political establishment as being obstructionists who refuse to compromise. They decry our inability to play by Washington’s rules and do not understand why this new wave of Republicans can’t just get along.
Folks across my district universally support providing their children with a good education. Educating our children strengthens our communities, creates and supports jobs, and boosts our economic competitiveness in the global market and at home.
