CodeRed Alerts from SCEMD

Get emergency notifications from SCEMD by phone, text and email.

  • Alert Types:  Notifications will be sent out when a major disaster is imminent or has just occurred, at the request of county emergency managers and various emergency situations requiring you to take personal protective actions.

You cannot assume your phone number is already included in our emergency notification database.  Individuals and businesses are encouraged to add your own phone numbers directly into the system via the Community Notification Enrollment Page for SCEMD.  The secure, customized CNE page allows our residents and businesses to add or update their contact information to ensure they will be included when an emergency, general, or weather message is sent – unlisted numbers, mobile numbers, TD/TTY requirements can all be entered.

  • Required information includes first and last name, street address (physical address, no P.O. boxes), city, state, zip code, and primary phone number, additional phone numbers can be entered as well.

All businesses should register, as well as all individuals who have unlisted phone numbers, who have changed their phone number or address within the past year, and those who use a cellular phone or VoIP phone as their primary number.

  • Caller ID:  Registered citizens will know the call is from Code Red Weather Warning when you see the telephone number 1-800-566-9780.  If you would like to hear the last message delivered to your phone, simply dial the number back.
  • Privacy: Your contact information will remain private and will only be used for severe weather or emergency alerts.
