Object Details

Rubber bands have been stretched one upon another to form balls for generations, but this example is unusual. It was created by Pages in 2002, over the course of many late-night debates in the House Chamber. The ball was kept in the Chamber, where Members and Pages sometimes bounced it. Eventually this stress-busting pastime was forbidden when it jostled nearby sound equipment, and the ball was retired.
