Congresswoman Marcia L. Fudge Statement on U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Decision to Dredge the Cuyahoga County River

WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS, OH – After several legal battles, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has agreed to dredge the Cuyahoga County River. Congresswoman Marcia L. Fudge (OH-11) released the following statement:

“The U.S. Army Corps’ decision to end its yearlong refusal to dredge the Cuyahoga River is great news for the people of the 11th Congressional District and our entire state.  Dredging the Cuyahoga River will ensure the waterway continues to be a safe, reliable transportation system, promoting commerce and increasing economic activity.  The process will also help guarantee drinking water and fishing areas remains clean and safe for all residents.  I thank the U.S. Army Corps for taking action for the sake of our state and look forward to working with them, the Ohio EPA, and the Port Cleveland in the future.”
