Press Release

Washington, D.C. (Nov. 23, 2016)—Today, Congressman Elijah E. Cummings (D-MD) issued the following statement to commemorate Thanksgiving:

“The Thanksgiving holiday allows us to reflect on the things that matter most. The holiday season draws us closer to family and friends as we share a Thanksgiving meal and give thanks for the blessings in our lives.

“Today, I thank my neighbors in the 7th district of Maryland for granting me the honor of representing them; I am honored to have their trust.”

“As we give thanks for our blessings in life, it is imperative that we think of others—those who are displaced and recovering from economic hardships, veterans still seeking work, and the children who will shape our future.  We must always extend our support to those who are too often unheard.”
